The the annual meeting of the Norwegian Association of Marine Scientists (Havforskermøtet) will this year take place in Tromsø 25-27 November at Clarion Hotel the Edge. This year’s theme is Effects of climate change and climate mitigation measures on marine ecosystems. As usual, we also welcome presentations on other topics within marine research. Registration is due by 31 October 2024 (registration form below).
The meeting will focus on effects on climate change in the ocean, and on the consequences of climate mitigation measures such as offshore wind and deep sea mining on marine life. This year’s theme is highly relevant for researchers and students who work with various aspects of climate change and climate measures on marine nature. We will invite relevant experts from various disciplines and institutions to create a broad conversation about trade-offs between technological solutions to the climate crisis and what this entails in terms of areal use and other environmental costs.
Contributions to the scientific program should ideally be in English, but can also be in Norwegian. Abstracts must be submitted in this folder by 1st of November. Please use the template for the abstract that you can find here.
We are looking forward to another insightful and social meeting of marine researchers, and hope to see you there!
